Where is York’s Lost Amphitheatre? – Thu 9 Jun 2016

Date: Thursday 9 June 2016, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Venue: Yorkshire Museum

Where did the Roman gladiators fight in York? It’s a question that children, students, archaeologists, academics and almost every curious person in York and beyond asks.

Join us for an entertaining, informative, fun event akin to X-factor meets Time Team as we try to find out more. Competing teams will dig deep in their knowledge of the city to come up with some genius ideas of where York’s amphitheatre might lie.

You will decide who is the most convincing! This promises to be one of the most exciting and entertaining archaeological events of the year.

At the end of the evening the audience vote for the winning team. The victorious team then have an opportunity to research and test out their ideas before reporting back at next year’s Festival of Ideas.

This event forms part of the University of York Festival of Ideas 2016 and the Eboracum Roman Festival 2016.
